What Hurts the Most

If you are reading this and you can relate, then I'm glad that you can. It's like there are people out there who try to tear down each and every thing that you've worked hard for in life. They want to justify what is that one "thing" that you and only you can do. Ultimately they want to label you so badly because that's the only thing that the world has trained them to do. Sometimes it seems that the things that you have crafted for such a long time and developed doesn't matter to them. As a photographer, I do not feel that I need to be categorized as much. I have a passion in my heart that burns brightly. Whatever I put my mind to do, I do it. Why is that something that does not matter to you? If I want to climb a latter to develop and learn even further in my photography field, it doesn't hurt to climb my way up. You won't learn if you don't try all the different aspects that there are in the world. See I want to do it all. I rather do it all, if I want to play the cards the right way, I don't see why not.

Great news! The documentary entitled, An Artist's Heart is set to premiere on Tuesday, December 13th at 9 pm via the official CMW-Photography Youtube channel. A lot of time and hard work was put into this amazing worth-while documentary. Make sure that you are one of the people to watch the world premiere of An Artist's Heart. Introduce La Brooch

I would like to introduce to you a new hobby that I have partaken in. I have been wanting to do something aside from photography and kind of out of the blue this brooch making came in my head. I am into crafts and enjoy creating things with my hands. So I though that it would be cool to take up in my brooch craze just because.

Right now I have a premiering line called the Starburst collection, which are amazing multi designs that I have favored from my start in brooch making.

I plan to come up with a bunch of different types of color combinations. I even have one named after the AKA sorority! The brooches retail at $1.25 and I want to add to all the fabulous fashonistas wardrobe a burst of color.

An Artist's Heart: Documentary Update

Like everyone else I am anticipating the completion of the documentary, An Artist's Heart. We have been shooting for about five days and counting. If I had to give a completion estimation, I guess I would say that it would be done early next month. But everyone be prepared to be in for a treat. I really enjoyed working on this documentary a bunch and I hope to make even more documentaries to come. The Fact: People Admire You A Far

So earlier this morning I got online to check my messages and I got this message from a long time friend of mine. We went to Elementary and Middle school together, I bumped into her a couple years ago at the mall and it has honestly been some time since I last talked to her. But to make a long story short she has been wanting to do photography and she admires what I am doing. She also wanted to talk and have me share what I know within photography. I read her message and smiled because sometimes you don't realize who is watching you in life. It's crazy because sometimes I feel like no one is paying me any mind. The reason why I think this is because of getting seldom compliments on my work online and etc. Then, how am I supposed to know that people actually are looking at what I do if I am not there with you. So it really touches my heart when I got this message today. I am all for wanting to be someone to talk to, especially learn/share things with people. But the big moral is that people are near and far that you probably don't know but they love what you do. Do what your heart desires and what you love to do, even if you don't have an audience. It takes time but it is honestly all worth it and I am a firm believer of that.

An Artist's Heart: The Documentary

I am super excited to be working on my very first documentary, which is for my digital video class that I am taking this semester. As soon as I got word that the next project was a documentary video, I guess you can say that my brain did it's normal thing. My creative passion exploded, lol! The person who I choose to do my documentary on is a really good friend of mine. We went to high school together and he is a truly talented and amazing artist who is in the music industry. I thought that this documentary would be something great for him on his behalf as well as something that he couldn't refuse. It's not everyday that you get asked if you want a documentary done on you.

My main goal with making this documentary is to show a different story about someone still trying to make it in the music scene. Accomplishing this video will target to other people or will reach out to people who are trying to make it. The effect that I want it to have on viewers will be to give people hope in their specific music career.

Right now I am still in the process of shooting the documentary and really allowing the story to be told to the best of its ability. Make sure that you stay on the lookout for the complete documentary on YouTube. In the meantime make sure that you check out the teaser for the documentary below.

I Rather Smile Then, Frown

I rather smile, then frown.

Especially on days that seem to not be going my way.

I find it stupid to let someone or something change my mood.

I should be more like a warrior in battle, ready to conquer anything that gets in my way.

With my shield in hand to block all the harm that comes my way, I can do all things that strengthns me.

With each day brings a fresh start.

If I get on the wrong foot once, I have the rest of the day to get on the right foot.

With the many things that could possibly get me down, I rather smile then frown at what I cannot fix.

It may hurt me deep down inside, but I am going to smile big and bright.

I'll smile so hard that my cheeks will hurt and I will laugh at the thought only to make me happy again.

I hope that my frown will disappear a little more easily and a smile will come more naturally when something is bothering me deep down inside.

So I have been doing graphic design along with my freelance photography business for a while. As I was working on a design piece for a sorority, it kind of dawned on me about giving my graphic design an actual name. I thought it would honestly be weird that a person would see 'CMW-Photography by Charnice' on a graphic design piece. Their thought would probably be, "what did she take the picture?" Kind of a not-so-bright answer but, hey you never know. I stayed up to about 2:00am this morning trying to conger up something and this is what I came up with, Design. My style is really clean and neat, so I went with this really cool color scheme. Currently the color scheme of my twitter too by the way ;) (@CMW_Photography) Tell me what you think!

The Badge of Power: Do-It-Yourself

I remember going to do an event for the first time. My step-mom had asked me to take pictures at a Christmas party of the children sitting on Santa's lap. I didn't refuse and thought that it would be a prefect opportunity. Being at this event would help me get my business out there if people were very interested in my photography. So if I was going to be the photographer for this event, I wanted to make sure that people knew that I was the photographer. Imagine me with one of those stick-on paper name badges.

The badge continued to get messed up and then started to stick less onto my jacket. After a while, there wasn't any use of keeping it on and hardly no one noticed that I was indeed a small freelance business. A badge with your name on it is such a big impressive power that you can wear around your neck. Not only does it display who you are and what you do, it clearly shows that you are professional and all about business.

I will show you how to make your own name badge (for whatever it is that you do). Check it out!

1. Design it!

I actually have two different badges that I like to alternate back and forth between depending on what I am wearing at an event. I have a pin-on badge and then I have a hang-around-the-neck type of badge. It is great to make two badges just because. I used Adobe Photoshop CS4 to create my design on my badges.

It's always great to brainstorm before you design, so you are not in front of a computer trying to figure out what you want on your badge. You might even want to do some online research to see what size you want your badge to be like I did. The badge on the left which is the pin-on badge is at a width of 5.8 by 3.517 height (180 resolution) and the badge on the right which is a hang-around-the-neck badge is at a width of 6.6 by 3.911 height (180 resolution).

I decided to go with two different designs for my badges. One is a abstract kind of theme and the other is a picture I took of a flower. I'd encourage you to have fun and bring your own creative unique style to the table when designing your badge. **If you do not have Adobe Photoshop there are other programs that you can use to create a badge. I would suggest you to try Avery Online, where you can design and print online from your home computer. Click here to design your badge online.

2. Print it!

The next step is to print. You may have to print it out more than once if you are trying to get the exact size that you want. Or even if the text may seem to be a little too small or too big. Take your time and print out your badge the way you want it.

3. Hang it or Pin it!

Finally after you get the correct print out of your badge (and you cut it to size, of course) you can finally stick it inside your pin-on badge or hang-around-the-neck badge. And your done! **If you need to purchase a pin-on badge or hang around the neck badge, you can go to your local Walmart and look down the office supply section. Reflect: I do it because I love It!

I always like to reflect back on where I've come from every now and then. This little passion of mine started way before I even knew that I'd enjoy it. Then, it started to become this deep passion, where it busted out like wild fire. Never did I have any influences by anyone I knew or didn't know. It kind of came out of no where, if you think about it. It almost feels like it was yesterday when I first picked up a camera and began snapping pictures. There is only one person who I have to thank for giving me this amazing gift. That is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who birthed an amazing, creative, artistic dream in my heart. So many times some of the simplest little things I capture are the most amazing things. Everyday I am faced with challenges but what would I be without trial and error. I want to learn as much as I can. I want to bless as many people as I can with my gifts and talents. Its nothing like making a person happy, who is having a bit of a ruff day by just looking at the simplest picture. Photography is apart of my life, I do it because I love it!

I want to be the first to let you know about a new high fashion Baltimore based magazine. Up N' Comin magazine is staffed by 7 extremely talented young adults and I happen to be one of those people. The magazine was founded by Melvin Buck, Jr. who is also a male model. We've practically went to school with one another since like Middle and I believe Elementary school as well as High school. He envisioned the magazine to be a big success pulling in models, makeup artist, hairstylist, and wardrobe stylist who have dreams of going far in doing what they love to do.The magazine is currently in the development stages gearing up to launch it's first premiering issue very soon. I am very excited as well as the whole Up N' Comin Magazine team. This Friday, October, 7, 2011 we will be shooting the second video ad to promote the magazine with no one other than Rebels Roc Crownz videographer, Bernard Maiden. So make sure that you keep your eyes and ears open for what is going on with the magazine.

Dream Girls...the Sequel

On Friday, September 23, I was one of the people who were asked to be apart of the Dream girls...the Sequel. In 2009, Dream girls had been founded. The event was especially good for women that had a long time dream that they had put off for a long time. It was a great event! For Dream girls...the Sequel, the same aspirations were talked about. As well as those who needed more encouragement with continuing on in their dreams. This year I was one of the people they asked to participate in the event. I was able to network with a lot of ladies and also help those out who wanted to write their own books. I had a great time as always and I am very thankful that I got the opportunity to be at the event.

Picture Day: The Famous Day

It was almost like yesterday when I was in Elementary, Middle, and High School. It's unbelievable to me that I'm already in college. I remember the most important day. My mom would get me ready and afterwhile, I begin to get myself ready, as I gotten older. I was in my 7th grade year of Middle school and I had the perfect outfit. A brown corduroy jacket, long sleeve pink shirt and either a pair of jeans or close in color corduroy pants. I put my hair in a ponytail, even made sure to put some lip gloss on my lips. But as soon as I got my pictures at school a couple of days later, I was disappointed. I didn't even want to hand out my wallet size picture to a friend.

So you're probably thinking, 'What was wrong with the picture?' Take a look as I analyze my school picture to see what could have been done on my part for a more successful picture. Also, even if you are long from Elementary, Middle, and High School, learn your best angles for the camera.

Analyzing: What Could Be Fixed?

This is how my 7th grade picture turned out. You might think that there is not much wrong with it, but I feel that it could be a tad-bit better. So what could have been fixed?

My hair: You see a strand of hair towards the back of my jacket, which makes this photo a little weird. Where is all the rest of my hair? This you cannot see, which makes the photo a little bit odd.

My smile: My smile is a bit too big. You see the majority of my top teeth. You can barely see my lip gloss and my smile makes my top lip look way too thin. This makes the smile seem a bit off.

So now that I've shared the major two things that could be fixed, this is what could have be done to fix the problem.

My hair: It would be much better to have pulled my hair up in a higher ponytail, that way you'd be able to see more hair.
My smile: It would be much better if I smiled only showing my front teeth, not all the way around. That way the lip gloss would be a bit more defined as well as my upper lip.

So when you are gearing up to take pictures, it is important to study how you ought to take pictures. How not to smile too big, but smile enough. How my hair should be and also what clothes would look best for my photo. These are some things that you should take into consideration. When you do these things you will have a more successful picture. Feel free to comment on this post talking about some of your most memorable childhood school photos.

As a photographer, it is important to dress to impress as much as possible. When you dress professionally you'll allow people to know that you are serious about the job at hand. I love making a great first impression on those that I work with for the first time and I thought that I could share my little tid-bit. Within this special fashion haul, I will share with you a couple of different looks that you can use for different settings. Maybe you are shooting a child's portrait, wedding, or a models fashion portfolio. Feel free to leave your comments on this post.

Business Dress

This is a great outfit that you might want to wear if you are in an indoor session doing self-portraits of people. I very rarely like getting dressed, but some days I do. So this would be a nice professional outfit to wear if your shooting a client or clients for the first time. (Shirt: Kohl's and Skirt: Old Navy)

Relaxed Dress

This is a great look if you are shooting a very fast past shoot. So having a great pair of closed-toe shoes and comfortable pair of pants, such as these black cargo pants is a must. I would wear this outfit when doing a long day fashion or modeling portfolio. (Shirt: Forever 21 and Pants: Old Navy)

On-the-Move Dress

This is a great outfit for shooting large families or busy moving shoots. A look like this would work for outdoor locations and gives you more comfort to move around. As a photographer you do not want to have any restrictions or limitations when you are shooting physically. (Shirt: Old Navy and Short: Forever21)

This is going to be a great event for any of you who are looking to get back into a long-time dream that you've had. For example, writing a book, starting a particular business, or maybe even going back to school. Inspiring Interviews: Bernard Maiden of Rebels Roc Crownz

I had the opportunity to sit down and talk to a really good friend of mine, Bernard Maiden, who is a videographer. He has done a bunch of the music videos for a lot of up and coming artist in the Baltimore, MD area. His video's have been featured on OFFBEAT INDIE by up and coming music artist submissions such as Dank of CMG, Rich e Rheu of Cash Com, Kontrah of M4R, Iceman Bobby Drake of CMG, and Dirty Astro of CMG. I am super fascinated with videography and it's something that I would even consider doing myself for fun. We had a great conversation and I feel like I've learn more about videography than I did before. Check out our interview and feel free to leave any comments or questions that you may have.

Charnice: So, what kind of video's have you done?

Bernard: Umm, right now I'm really into music video's. I've done behind the scenes videos. I've done like event videos...and I just want to do...I really want to get into short films and documentaries. I really want to start documenting whats around me so i can remember when I grow old. (Laughs)

Charnice: When you are doing video's, what is your editing process like?

Bernard: Umm, well usually when [doing] music video's, I do a narrative scene and I do a performance scene...2 or 3 of those. And basically I like...do the whole performance scene through from beginning to start from the song. Then I through that on there and I cut out the pieces that like didn't come out good and I fill that with narrative shots. And I just layer it, I layer it so its like...i do the whole performance scene through once, that's done, the whole video with just one scene. Then I go through the beginning do the second shot over the whole video and that's mainly the way I do videos right now. Um...I really want to like improve my video process so its more complex, but that's just the first way that I figure out how to do it.

Charnice: So, I know like when I'm watching videos, like music videos and I know that they are using digital SLR cameras to do them. I'm like how do they do that? How do they like get different angles, you know. There in the same place but in different angles. Do you have like different people with you to help you get the angles of the same performance or...

Bernard: Um, well...hm...you can but a lot of times if you don't have the same camera or the same model camera, then the picture will come out a little bit different. Um, but basically i do everything myself. You just put the camera settings on neutral so it just films everything standard and you just do a few takes of the same thing in different angles. You just have to have it in your head. You do the back and then you do the front and maybe you could do on top or you could do worms eye...a lot of different shots and you just put it together...

Charnice: So everybody, you know...playing the same song over...how many times...how many times would you say?

Bernard: Its fun. Each time you get into it, usually i tell the person like to come up with a routine. So there saying the same words so maybe do the same thing with their hands every time you come across that bar. And then when you put it all together with all the different angles, it looks like the same shot, but its different acts.

Charnice: Cool. Before you even begin to do videos is there a particular process that you do? For example, planning out times, locations, and etc?

Bernard: Umm, usually um there is like two different kinds of videos, there's a production right now for me...there's a production and there's just like...go and do a video. So like a production like you think of a story line, you find locations, you think of how you want to do the shots and you try your best and you go shoot all that. Usually within a day or two. And then there's some other videos where, I mean you have a good camera and you don't have anything to do today...so. Usually if its in your neighborhood you know good spots already so you just go to a spot and you just film what you can as many times as you can do it and it usually comes out good when your done.

Charnice: Okay, so describe production.

Bernard: Umm, production like...usually get together with a team...usually more than one person, the artist and there like back team or whatever. And you talk about where you want to shoot um, story lines behind things. Umm like maybe how does the video start like, where do you want to start it, what do you want to be doing, what is the song about. As an artist, you have to come together with the musicians and try and like really make an imagery for what they want portray for that song. But then there's other songs that we just want to be in the video...I don't like those...(laughs)

Charnice: Just like basic videos, like just film me rapping in front of my house or something...

Bernard: I like everything to be visually pleasing at least. So if your video is not going to have a meaning behind it at least make it appealing to the eye or something...make a fake story, something. It has to be something.

Charnice: Okay, what would you like to tell other people out there that is looking to get into videography?

Bernard: If you are looking to get into videography, do a lot of research, look at a lot of other videos...like um directors, find a director you like and look at all of his videos. Look at a lot of tutorials and really learn photography because with a SLR there is a lot of aperture and shutter speed settings and if your really good with manual photography then you should be good at digital video.

Charnice: Is there any places were we can see some of your work? Laughs

Bernard: Um, you can get on Youtube channel, Planet Dank all one word. I did all of there videos. There website Dank B*tch.com. (Laughs) Um, also coming soon M4RTV.com and probably an RRC website. Right now just um, any of the video artist that I have done so far...their youtube channel pages or my Facebook. I think its b.t.madien...at facebook...my name...

Charnice: What type of video's do you enjoy doing most?

Bernard: Well I enjoy... right now I just like documenting live like life, doing interesting events, like...things that only happen once. Maybe like an event or even a thunderstorm. Maybe something that you do in a thunderstorm, something that you can capture one time. Thats what I like doing most.

Charnice: Okay. Last, questions. If I wanted to go into videography what are some key things that I would need to do? Like what would I need to have?

Bernard: First you would need to like, have angles already in your head, like if your shooting something with a car...you got to know like...I've got to get this angle cause with cars that's really good. Um, and like i said do a lot of research, look at other videos so when your in that scenario, you already know the best way to like or something you need to get from that. There's a lot of situations where I film something and I go back and look and I'm like...I want to do this again. But you can't do it again...just one time.

Photography as a Hobby

Now of days there are quite a few people looking more into doing hobbies. Other than doing their regular jobs and things that they enjoy doing. The kind of hobby that people are starting to gravitate more towards is photography. Those people who are looking to understand photography in a way or just wanting to know how to make photography as a hobby, Its pretty easy to do.

1. Your going to need a camera. It doesn't even have to be the most expensive camera out there. Photography is a hobby for you so you want to start with something a bit basic. Nothing that over exceeds your price limit. And also you want to start with something simple because eventually you'll be able start to learning more about the camera and all its functions. If you start with a basic camera at a good price then you'll get to learn the things about the camera. Instead of just starting with a higher or expensive camera where you will actually have to read on how to operate it. Check out the difference between a Compact Camera and SLR Camera

2. Sometimes cameras come with SD cards or memory card. But sometimes they don't so you will want to buy that with the camera you plan on purchasing. You might want to look into details about the camera that you plan to purchase before purchasing your memory card for your camera.

3. Cameras come with battery packs or regular batteries. You want to invest in getting rechargeable batteries with a battery charger ( if your camera doesn't have a battery pack). You won't have to continue to purchase batteries over and over again.

4. Camera bag. You can get a very affordable camera bag to protect your camera from any scratches and also traveling. Store battery charger and any camera accessories. You can purchase a affordable camera bag from Walmart, Target, etc.

Now making photography as a hobby.

It is always good to get a feel of your camera by taking pictures of things around you. You can take pictures of landscape, up-close textures, people, indoor or outdoor. This will help you to see what kind of photography you are aiming to do. So I listed a couple of different kinds of shooting assignments that could help you and figuring out what kind of photography your interested in doing. Feel free to get started on my shooting list and you can also come up with your own ideas. The Message: Understanding Cameras

A lot of people always tend to ask me about my camera. Can I change the lens? What kind of functions does it have on it? But one question that tends to stick out the most is, "Can my camera do what your camera can do?" Explaining this question is a bit hard to do, especially if the person isn't camera savvy. So if you want to understand cameras a bit better than what you do now, this is a perfect time to learn. In this post I will explain what some of the differences are and how you can tell these two types of cameras apart.

There are two types of cameras: Compact Digital Cameras & SLR Digital Cameras

One type of camera is a compact digital camera. Sometimes you may be fooled into thinking that it isn't, like this Nikon L120, pictured above. I think the part that really gets people is this cameras lens. Yet this camera is a little more on the sophisticated side then a basic compact camera, it gives you that photographer feel. Although the lens comes out, when powered on, the lens is not interchangeable. This camera has a lot of different features, but this camera doesn't do everything that an SLR can do. The one thing that this camera lacks, other than not having interchangeable lens is manual functions. Manual functions meaning, preforming stuff that isn't automatic. All the functions on the Nikon L120 are automatic functions. This could be switching your camera setting to portrait or landscape and etc. So you may be wondering, "How is that so?" Lets take a look at the Sony Alpha A-390 SLR digital camera, pictured below.

SLR stands for Single-lens Reflex. As you can see inside of the Sony Alpha A-390 pictured above, there is a little mirror in the inside of the camera. This is where SLR cameras get their name from. On this camera and many other SLR cameras a person is able to change their functions from automatic to manual. Other than changing the camera to manual, you can also change your lens to manual from automatic. With the lens being interchangeable, you can buy other lens that have different focal lengths, stability, and etc. So if you've seen cameras that are used for sports, they have very long focal lengths that capture images at a far distance. With the manual settings, you can create longer exposures instead of just clicking your shutter once. There are also so many other functions that a compact digital camera isn't able to do. Such as changing how much light you are going to need in an image. I could go on and on about what their differences are. But out of all that I've shared there is only one that can easily help you tell the difference between the two. A SLR camera has interchangeable lens, whereas a compact digital camera doesn't. So when shopping or talking about cameras, make sure to keep there distinct differences in mind.

The Life Experience

You'd probably be amazed at how many people aren't for you. It can be anyone. Someone you meet for the first time or have known for a long time (friends, professional industry, boyfriend/girlfriend). Sometimes it takes a couple of days, maybe a month or a season. But every thing has a reason and a reason produces an outcome. There have been many times where people didn't come through when I needed them. Or plans were arranged and the plans never took off. I can count the number of times were I was disappointed. It made me feel like I was neglected and I always wanted to know why things like this happened. I wondered what exactly made this situation different than any other, not really understanding that there were things working behind the scenes. Only if everyone could understand what was being done right away, then their would be no more questions. Everyone wouldn't get such a cold heart and feel as though that relationship wasn't meant to be. It's amazing how much we seem to question life and not realize that there is a meaning behind it. Things like this don't just happen to happen, it happens how its supposed to happen. Not only does the meaning of the reason hit you faster than a speeding bullet, you now become aware of why it happened. Sometimes its going to hurt you, but the next step is moving on to something bigger and better. Life gives you the experience and that's something that you are going to have to take and run with.

So recently, I just entered the above photo into the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, which is a competition. I was very satisfied with the outcome of this self photographed picture of myself. I like to keep pictures of myself up-to-date and one hot day of being in the house, produced this picture. In the meantime we will see how it goes.

The Person Who Will Beat You Up

Its funny how nobody can severely hurt you, but you. When I say severely hurt you, I mean mentally.You are the person who will beat you up and you're the one who does the most damage. There's always something that you wish that you could have done better. I mean there always is and it happens more than one time. But what are you to do? There is only one or two paths in which you can go down. Either beating yourself up over a situation you can't change or accepting it.You'll hurt greatly from the thing that eats you up the most, but you'll learn from your mistakes. No, the hands of time can't turn back, everyone's got to keep moving forward. Never can you jump ten steps back to undo what you have done. Life's a lesson and you're going to run into many different test, exams, and midlife crisis. Believe me its not easy, it's apart of growing up, developing the toughest skin. Just know that the person who will beat you up is you.

So today my brand new camera came in! I'm extremely excited and this will mark my first ever Digital SLR camera. I have had experience taking photos with Digital SLR cameras, but hadn't yet bought one. I think the wait was worth it, honestly. It was a lot in a good package. From the zoom lens to the SD Card, and the camera bag. Sometimes you can't just rush things, you have to be patient and when that time comes then you make your move. The Basics: Know Me Well

Many people that I meet or I'm introduced to for the first time, think that I'm much younger than 20. It's kind of funny cause, I hear it over and over again. I always give the same response, "Yep, I get that a lot." I've been placed in the category of 15 or 16 years old and I'm like, well jeez, all that hard work that I did to get out of high school. But I honestly try not to sweat it. I keep telling myself, when I get 30 I'll look like I'm in my 20's or something. Who knows. I've been taking pictures for about four years and I love it! Have I never gotten tired of doing it either. It is my hobby that I like to partake in even if I have nobody to model for me. I'll just set my camera on timer and be the model for myself. Whatever it takes to get your attention, I want to make sure that I can capture it...

There is a lot that you learn and a lot of things that you wish you hadn't known. Sometimes you even wish that you could have changed what you said or the way you said it. Whatever the case may be, you have no control over it. No control over the way the situation is going to prevail, in a way. As I reflect on the number of times were I was let down, I guess it made me stronger. Realizing that you cannot please everybody down the list. It's more so allowing the people who see something that they like in you, gravitate towards you. No, not everyone's style is the same. People have preferences of course and I understand that, but sometimes it can't always be the way I want it. And I guess you can say that its hard to be understood and to understand. But there is no reason to stop the process of doing me. Delivering the constant thriving for success. As I come to a close I say that I don't think that I should have changed what I did or known what I hadn't know before. But at least I know now and this will create a even better me.

Photography is like my getaway. I chose to craft my skill and become a little bit better each and everyday. I like to remain attentive and busy. Anything that makes me feel like I'm using my time wisely. I never settle for the average. My plan is to make it somewhere. Achieving all that I currently have is my constant reminder to keep moving. I want to take more turns in life. Almost like going into different outlets. I know for a fact that whatever is given to me in "here" (my heart), I can turn it from a wonderful idea into a big sensation. I keep coming up with these concepts and things that I feel that I can do. I don't think twice about it and I always picture myself doing it. Daydreaming about what it would be like to stand in that position or live in that success. There's so many things i want to do, but I must take my time. A lot of my wants are far beyond. I have to promise myself that I'll eventually make it there. All it takes is time and patience and that's one thing that I'll continue to do. Take my time and remain patient about what else there is to come in my life.

The-craziest-but-most-darn-on-amazing-person-who-is-trying-to-make-it-to-where-she-wants-to-be-in-life.

I refuse to slack-off and not reach a very brightly lit dream.

All I'm trying to be is me.

A young woman, not afraid to do her own thing for a change.

Imaging that all i want in life, is right there.

I don't care about how much I'm out there on ideas, but i know for sure that I'm making things that's far, near.

You can continue to say to yourself that your confused, but i am the least bit confused.

Who said that I couldn't do what I want to do.

I'll write as many books as i want, take as many pictures as i want.

And I'll gladly add on to the list of as many other things that i want.

I am trying to be on top.

An overachiever that didn't have to settle for average and bear all cost.

I admit that I've gotten a lot of inspiration, but the truth is that I'll never settle for less.

I want to have as many titles added onto my name, meaning that i plan to be here to stay.

Clearly, this life is all so much of a blessing.

More like a gift given to no other person than me.

Excuse me for knowing exactly what I'm trying to do in life.

I know what I'm trying to be and that is me.

The Hardest Part Is Waiting

There is a bunch of stuff that I want to get to boast myself along in my business. These things being a new camera, studio lights, printer, etc. And one thing that I refuse to look at is the things that i lack. Cause I believe that its better to look at all the things that you have. At some point, you didn't have any of the things that you have now. So why sit there and complain??? Complaining will get you nowhere, but determination will. Using the things that you have already in your possession is what's more important. But at times I can stumble backwards on this little subject. I have to catch myself. Believe me, what you say is damaging. The most sharpest thing there is comes from your mouth. Especially, your thoughts. Sometimes you have to cut the negativity out. There are times where I feel like I've got to doubt and make up excuses. But excuses and negativity will not get you anywhere. You'll tear yourself apart drastically and begin rubbing your doubt and negativity onto others. There is always this challenge to remain hopeful and that things are going to come through, sooner or later. The hardest part is waiting and this is what seems to be the longest challenge. There's no telling when the things that you've been waiting for will come or when you'll get that "big break." Honestly, it just happens, when it happens. But in the meantime of waiting, I have no choice but to wait it out.

Sometimes Things Might Not Come When You Want Them...

It always appears to be that way. But what can you do? You simply cannot do anything about it. It's out of your reach, its out of your hands. There's nothing that you can do about it. It took me some time to really consider that. I felt like there was something that i could say or something that i could do. I hate to say it, but there's always a reason why things turn out the way they do. When the ball gets dropped, there's a reason. When something comes up and destroys plans, there's a reason. When people pop back into your life, there's a reason. Things just don't happen on purpose, there's a reason. When you sit up here and go through all this "hell," so to speak, It has to be pretty obvious. This is how things were supposed to be. Clearly its a challenge, but it is a test to see how your going to handle it. Either handle it with the way you know how to or avoid it from getting out of control. There is no way that you can just sit back and do nothing at all. As a human being, I'm pretty sure that is not how we operate. But just think about it, all those other times that you went through, didn't you still come on top, strong? You look back and you think, how did i get out of that mess? And deep down inside it was you, your great character and someone higher than you who brought you through (God). So, "sometimes things might not come when you want them, but He'll be there right on time. He's an on time God, yes he is..."

I'm excited and I see myself, doing this in the future. Constantly being busy, but yet remaining organized. Even though it's a lot, I know that I can do it. Plus, its nothing new, maybe the growth of consistency and many other things to build up my work performance a bit.The spreed continues to grow. A lot of people need pictures and I'm very grateful for that. I continue to grow and develop within me more. My skill expands and my journey continues to grow. Kind of amazing, when i look back on the past slightly. I've come a long way, I tell you that.

Competition Is Not What Matters. What You Do Matters

Every Sunday, I get a new sermon from Joel Osteen, to put on my ipod classic. I subscribed to the Joel Osteen video podcast on itunes. One day i just so happened to be listening to a new sermon called, Freedom from Competition, while i was waiting in between classes at school. I could fairly relate to the subject. Sometimes i find myself feeling that i need to prove to somebody, when in reality, why should I. I mean its alright to show determination, but you shouldn't have to step out of what makes you, you. It's important to be comfortable where you are and what you do. So, the things that i do are what sets me apart from others, but yet I'm on my own path. Regardless, of how many other portrait photographers are out there. I'm on my own level, whereas everyone else is on many other different levels. Day after day, i continue to learn, i continue to grow, i continue to get a little more educated in my passion. And that's the thing that matters the most. There's no use on trying to be like the rest. What you have, they might not have or vice versa. Competition was a word that was supposed to make you worry when you don't really have to.

At the moment, I am finishing up the laundry that needs to get dried. It feels kind of good to know that I don't have to help my mom lug in a bunch of bags to and from the laundry mat. But at the same time it's kind of weird, since it's been so long since i had a washer and dryer in my home. Believe me, this makes it a whole lot better. No more staying at a 24 hr. laundry mat every couple of weeks, washing clothes. I must admit, that iIm truly blessed. Didn't know how or when or who we were going to get a washer and dryer from, but it happened. It's kind of great to say that many things that you don't see, can amaze you. You have to look back and think, "Wow! So that's what you had in store for me?"

Everybody says, I've got to go and chase my dream. But shouldn't it be the other way around or could it be the other way around? Not to say that people are wrong for saying that they want to go chase their dreams, but shouldn't your dreams be chasing you? You have the gift, the talent, and you've got the right knowledge. You're mind is set to a specific or an exact. Even though nobody may understand what you see, you know deep within what it is that you want to do. You keep thinking about how you're going to make your dreams come true, getting into that job position or career field that you want. You've told yourself countless times, that this is what you want, nothing else. So since it's already been established in your head, your dreams are running to you, not away from you. Think about it. You have registered for those classes that are going to further you in your career. You're starting to talk to people that are in your career field and asking for advice. You're making decisions that sets you apart from the others. You're making your dream come to reality. Aren't you? You're dreams are coming to you, all you have to do is reach out and grab it. It is as simple as that.

Wake-Up to Blog In the Afternoon

This morning i woke up sneezing, had a stuffy/runny nose, and now i'm coughing a little. What is up with this? I think that it's allergies, cause it can't be a cold. That's for sure. Simple to say that i have a little "flimflam" in my throat. I thought that it might have been the fan i had turned on at 6 AM, but i doubt that could be the reason why. I hardly slept that long under it, since i got up around 9 or so.

So what is on my schedule today, pretty much nothing. I have devoted this time to blog. I've put tons of post up from previous photo shoots that i have done and tinkered around to make my blog "cool" presentable.

I have really been wanting to take photos of someone or anyone, but that hasn't happened at all this week (so to speak.) So all i can do is wait for the calls, texts, and the emails to come through. I figure that this is the hard part of my business, waiting. Sometimes it isn't all that fun and in a sense it gives me a break, but I can't with-stand this for too long.

Soon the summer is coming to a close and I'm actually looking forward to it, but I want to make sure i get all the best for last i can get before i can't get it. (I wonder if that makes any sense.) But to ease this so-to-say pressure of waiting off me, i tend to take time to take pictures of myself. Make some promo ads for my business or create self art (in a way.) Clearly this is what the life is like for now, for an up and coming photographer like myself.

So just today, i was going through some outdated photography magazines. I got them when I was in my black & white film photography class. I had been meaning to check them out. Like really check them out, but all i had come to do was look at the photographs that were in them. So i looked through many of the ads and found a photography contest. I already knew that the contest was long over, but when i went to the magazines website, i saw that they had other contest. Just to get straight to the point, one of the contests was scheduled to have a deadline for August 2nd, 2010. But that was crossed out on the site and the new deadline is August 16th, 2010.

CMW-Photography Club: Read All About it

Aside from going in the profession that i enjoy a whole lot, i have a heart for things outside of it. I like to be a motivator or someone to look up to, in a way. Before, i fully committed to officially starting my own business, i had a website that i had no clue what it was about. That website was originally, C.M.W-Photography now named, CMW-Photography Club. But now over the years, I figured out exactly what that site was supposed to be for. I wanted to give back to teens and young adults between the ages of 13-25, like myself. So after opening a official website for my business, CMW-Photography Club has become strictly opened for those teens and young adults, who have an inspiring profession that they chose to go into. That could be from fashion, modeling, art, music, photography and so much more. I find it kind of crazy how this whole site began to unfold, but it did. Now i believe the saying, "some things come in small packages." The site has grown a lot and i try my hardest to continue to help those like myself, cause I'm right along with the rest of them. Trying to grow into something that i have a whole lot fun and enjoyment in doing. I don't want to be stuck in a career field that i don't enjoy, what would be the purpose?
